The Black Lennons

The Black Lennons

The Black Lennons are a theremin, electronic devices, guitar and voice duo based in Spain. Their music can be psychedelic, dark, ironic, disturbing like a storm on the beach or a nightmare in an oasis. They mix abstract sounds, disco hits or avant-garde notes.

Their first Record Querida Lógica –2016- is a concept album. It is a story about classical thinkers and artists–Freud, Wagner, Jung, Wittgenstein- living in Costa del Sol, nowadays. This record portrays a dystopian, ironical, imaginative story, around The Black Lennons´ own unparlelled universe.

Julen Palacios is a guitar player, composer and singer boasting a long professional career with Spanish underground bands –La Familia Atávica, Los Cuantos, La Femme Fakir- and Silvia Grijalba, on her part, is the theremin player; she has played along with ambient pioneers IPD and avant-garde and rock bands like Las Malas Lenguas-. Not to mention her facet as a novelist and spoken word artist in her own right.

The Black Lennons have played at literary festivals – the Psychedelic Fest Periferias and La Noche de los Libros- and they’ve been included in collective albums along with Danielle de Picciotto, Jowe Head and Kim Warsen, among a host of others. During the last year they have toured Spain with Jowe Head and An Infernal Contraption and they have done several live shows in Berlin.
